Samsung to include auto-focusing front camera on Galaxy S8: Report

Samsung plans to introduce automatic focus to the front-facing camera on its next flagship rumored to be called the Galaxy S8, according to Korea-based ET News.

ET News reported Samsung will introduce the feature to capture subjects that are located far away and will focus on them for clearer results.

The auto focus move would differentiate the Galaxy S8 from the rest of the industry. Manufacturers have previously focused on quality and megapixels.

Photos taken with smartphones' front-facing cameras have exploded in popularity thanks to apps like Snapchat and Facebook Messenger.

Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S8 next year, as it looks to rebound from its disastrous Galaxy Note 7 recall. Samsung previously confirmed the next flagship will feature an AI assistant.
